Target Consulting Group was a patron sponsor at a recent charity event, The Rodman Ride for Kids. The Ride raises funds for vital children's programs through an annual 50- or 100-mile bike ride through southeastern Massachusetts. Since 1991, the Rodman Ride for Kids has raised nearly $17 million to help underprivileged children in Massachusetts. Last year alone, it raised $3.4 million.

What You Can Expect in 2006
The good news is that the economic outlook for 2006 is an optimistic one. It's forecasted that there will be more opportunities for sales organizations to grow. This growth will translate into more job openings.
The challenge is that there will be fewer candidates to go around, forcing recruiting costs to increase. This problem will only continue for the next decade because in 2010, 40% of the work force will retire due to a large portion of baby boomers reaching the age of 65.
The Top Five Reasons Why December is the Best Time to Look for a New Sales Position
1. Large companies typically have the remaining funds from the 2005 hiring budget.
2. Less candidates are job hunting during the holidays, which eliminates competition and gives you a better chance of getting the job.
3. Companies redo their hiring budgets for 2006, giving you the advantage in reaching a final interview in the month of January (when the company is ready to hire).
4. Looking now will give you a head start on the candidates who start their job search on January 1st (After they make their New Year's resolutions.)
5. The holidays are more enjoyable knowing that you have job security.
